TRIVIA Boulder Dash was released in August 1985. It was known as the 44th video game made for the DECO Cassette System (Cassette no. 44).
The original game was created by Chris Gray and Peter Liepa of First Star Software and developed for the Atari 800 home computer, before being ported to just about everything under the sun.
An arcade version of the original game was previously released in the US via Exidy for their Atari 600XL-based platform, the Max-A-Flex.
