Race around the track, avoiding other cars and the walls. The car colors are purple, peach, yellow, green, light blue, white, red and dark blue.
TECHNICAL The game is housed in a massive cabinet!! This machine takes up a phenomenal amount of floorspace; 16 square feet, which is truly massive for something from this era. The game has a truly massive game board. It is a card rack system, containing a board for each of the eight cars, sync, coin control and score boards.
There are mirrors overhead that allow passers-by to see the game action while people are playing.
Used discrete logic hardware and a full color screen.
TRIVIA Released in April 1975. At the time of its release, it was Atari's most expensive game ever produced, selling at an MSRP of $6495 (almost the equivalent of $37,000 in 2023).
This was the first 8-player video game ever released.
