The Roland RA-30 Realtime Arranger was a desktop MIDI arranger module designed to add automatic accompaniment, backing styles, and PCM instrument sounds to an external MIDI keyboard. It combined a General MIDI-compatible sound engine with an arranger section capable of generating drums, bass, and accompaniment tracks in real time from chords played on a connected keyboard. The RA-30 was intended for solo performers, home studios, and MIDI musicians seeking arranger functionality without purchasing a dedicated arranger keyboard.

TRIVIA The RA-30 was one of Roland's earliest dedicated arranger modules, arriving before arranger keyboards became dominant.
It allowed musicians to add arranger functions to existing MIDI setups without replacing their keyboard.
The concept was similar to arranger modules later offered by Yamaha and Korg. It became popular among one-man-band performers and home entertainers during the early 1990s.
The RA series eventually evolved into more sophisticated arranger products with improved sound engines and expanded style libraries.
Unlike Roland's Sound Canvas modules, the RA-30 focused on accompaniment generation rather than simply acting as a sound source.
