TIPS AND TRICKS
Game genie:
C8A?D28?C4D - Re-enables a debug cheat. At the title screen, first select one of the debug modes described below by pressing Select.
A number of pressings corresponds to the desired function and wrapped around 8, but actually different modes are 5.
When done, press Up, Down, Left, Right, B, B, Up, Down. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Now during the game use selected options to debug various parts of the game.
All debug modes uses different set of debug flag bits, but the bit 7 is set for all modes:
Function 0 - Bit 7 is set (default).
Function 1 - Bits 7 and 2 are set.
Function 2 - Bits 7, 2 and 0 are set.
Function 3 - Bits 7, 2, 1 and 0 are set.
Functions 4-7 - Bits 7, 3, 2, 1 and 0 are set.
The following list describes the meaning of each bit:
Bit 7 - Common debug features in all game modes:
In Map mode - Start - switch to Town mode.
Select - next map.
Down + Select - previous map.
In Town mode - Start - switch to Map mode.
Select - next town.
Down + Select - previous town.
In Battle mode - Start - skips the battle
Select - next location background.
Bit 3 - All items in any shop.
Bit 2 - Skip enemy move in Map mode.
Bit 1 - Extra 68000 gold at the beginning of the new game.
Bit 0 - All characters at the beginning of the new game.
