The significance of the game's title revolves around the Chinese lucky number, 8.

The game has several instances of 8:

• The majority of wins end in an 8, including the dice game, where the bonus wins and even the dice themselves contain the number 8.
• The Emperor (wild symbol) sometimes multiplies wins by 8, 18, 38 or 88.
• In the New South Wales version, which was the first release, the number 8 is also reflected by the maximum bet multiplier being 28.

SCORING
All pays are left to right except scattered Lanterns which pay any.

Emperor substitutes for all symbols except Lantern. If one or more Emperor substitutes in a win the pay for that win is multiplied by 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 18, 38 or 88.

Dice Feature - playing "EXTRA CHOICE" button:

3 dice games are awarded. Each dice game starts with the eight outer dice being rolled. If one or more 8 is rolled then all the 8's are held and the remaining outer dice are rolled again. This continues until no more 8's are rolled or eight 8's appear. At the end of each dice game a prize is awarded for the number of 8's spun up:

Prizes are multiplied by credits bet per line on the game that triggered the feature.

At the completion of any 3 dice games the middle die is rolled and if "3 more games" is rolled another 3 dice games are played.
