    NBA Jam Extreme was released on December 17, 1996.

    Midway lost the NBA Jam license to Acclaim in 1995. Midway developed the 2-D games "NBA Hangtime" and "NBA Maximum Hangtime" while Acclaim developed the 3-D game NBA Jam Extreme.
