R•Type Complete CD © 1991 Irem Corp.
R•Type Complete contains the full R•Type game, with new remixed CD quality musics and detailed animation cut-scenes. The first two HuCards released in 1988 offered only few stages each because of technical limitations (R•Type 1 contained Levels 1 to 4, and R•Type 2 levels 5 to 8). This CD-Rom adaptation uses the same controls and concepts than the original arcade. Fly the R-9 fighter and strageticaly use your little flying pod (called the Force) to defeat waves of diversified enemies from the Bydo empire, without forgetting the huge bosses including the prominent Dobkeratops, the weird and suspiciously-genital Gomander and the single and gigantic battleship covering the whole of stage 3. A story line has also been added to the mix, we get introduced to real human characters like the R-9 pilot, called Ryo Minamoto and the girl on his side, Leza Steffany and the fight of Humanity against the evil Bydo Empire.
