The Psion Series 3a is an enhanced revision of the original Series 3, released in 1993 with significant hardware and usability improvements.
It retains the same clamshell design but introduces a higher-resolution 480×160 grayscale display, improved software, expanded RAM options (up to 2 MB), and better overall system performance while using the same NEC V30H processor at 7.68 MHz.
The Series 3a improves text clarity, application usability, and expands storage capabilities through dual SSD slots. It runs the same SIBO / EPOC16 operating system, maintaining full compatibility with Series 3 software while offering a much more refined user experience.
This model represents the most popular and widely adopted version of the Series 3 family, significantly improving usability and readability over the original.
