TRIVIA
The RD-500 was among Roland's earliest stage pianos to feature 64-note polyphony, a high specification for 1994.

It helped define the modern concept of the dedicated stage piano: realistic piano sounds, weighted keys, and professional connectivity.

The RD series would later become one of Roland's most successful professional keyboard lines.

Many touring musicians preferred the RD-500 because it was lighter and more performance-focused than workstation keyboards.

Its piano sound was considered competitive with contemporary instruments from Yamaha and Kawai.

The instrument is often regarded as an important transitional model between early digital pianos and the highly sophisticated stage pianos of the 2000s.
